Thank You.

Hi Guys.

Thank you all for your lovely comments both here and on the facebook over the last 24 hours.  You should know I’m really sad to be leaving i102-104, and that I would have loved to have said goodbye on air.  Unfortunately it’s company policy that nothing be said about departures.

I hope to be on air again somewhere soon, so hopefully we’ll speak again.  I have been grateful for each and every one of you every morning that I’ve been lucky enough to wake you up.

Now – to business!

Louise xoxo

    Hi Louise,

I came to work this morning and found myself flicking through other radio stations as i102104 was just plain boring.

You and Conor brought so much fun to the mornings and for me, my drive to work will not be the same!

I get the impression that i102104 have messed you around – The consolation for you should be that they are now about to loose a massive listnership!!

Every good wish for whatever comes your way next, I have no doubt that you’ll be on the radio waves again soon and I for one look forward to tuning in!!

Thanks for telling us.We will miss you very much. Goodbye. Will miss you forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😦

I’m with Dymphna here. Just not the same without ye, even went as far as to write a letter of complaint, and got a long winded reply of crap, with parts such as ” Due to falling advertising revenues globally it was no longer possible for the station to continue incurring losses and although we did everything within our power to avoid being forced into this situation, external factors affecting advertising revenues made it impossible for us to continue on with the same business model. As such, we entered into a redundancy process with the staff through which we identified the staff that we had to retain in order for the company to move forward” – load of sh*te!
I also got “iWakeup will be back on Monday morning with a new presenter and I hope you’ll tune in and give it a chance. I do also hope that this will not stop you from listening to the station as we value all of our listeners. ” – I did not tune in and nor will I, bycott seems to be the only answer!

Let us know what station you’re on next and tell Conor to set up a blog too!!!

Denise………I thought I was the only one for a boycott! I have tried ringing the station today and all yesterday when i found out, finally spoke to someone last night who could not give answers which was understandable (no answer today!). I personally will no longer listen to Iradio, the reason I tuned in was on the way to work with iwakeup, the radio will be set on another station and CD’s in the morning – can’t listen to boring drab. Iwakeup had the most fans on the facebook pages of the peak radio shows, I have set up a page to bring louise and lynch back but just not getting the support from fans of the show. Management of Iradio have lost here and other sations will gain, I just hope to GOD wherever louise and lynch end up i can tune in and they get to do the show their way which was unique to iradio. Louise ye are a big loss to the station, it was my daily fix and made the drive to work at 7 am a pleasure, going to miss ye!

Folks you need to relax and take it easy, yes Louise leaving is a travesty and shouldn’t have happened but that doesn’t mean you should boycott some of Lou’s best buddies such as Barbara, Lisa, Mary and Darragh.

  6. Claire · April 9, 2010

Louise, wishing you all the best in where you go next and keep us updated.
Will miss ya in the mornings, I start work at 5 am and the other stations don’t give the start to the day that you and lynch did.
    Sadly missed this morning

  7. Siobhan · April 11, 2010

@scardis its not for the rest it the fact the management took one of the best shows off the station, Iwakeup was the only reason I tuned into the station at all! Do you think if 2FM simply took off 2 of their best presenters it would be let slip? Well 1 they are not that stupid and 2 they would be snapped up. Louise for next job I just hope we can hear you in the west and same with Conor, the 2 facebook pages set up to bring ye back shows how much ye are missed, sad to say tho some think your on hols!

    Hi guys,

Thanks a million for all your comments. I’m genuinely touched, as when you do a show like ours it’s hard to tell whether or not people are really enjoying it or if it’s just background noise! I hope to be back on the radio soon, hopefully somewhere you can hear me, but for now I’m a victim of the recession like so many others. The station needed to save money. It’s as simple as that. If it hadn’t been me it would have been someone else. I’m really sad not to be a part of i102-104 anymore, and I’m even more sad that I won’t be part of your mornings anymore, but we’ll all truck on eh?

    Major LOVES. xx

    Dear Louise,

We travel to school and work every day and we look forward to turning on the radio and listening to yourself and Conor.
We were really shocked this morning when you were not on and despite sending texts we did not find out until this evening that you were let go.
We hope to hear you again as our mornings will not be the same without you. Sarah is devistated that there will be no more “goss” with you!
    Sarah and Daragh.

Hey Louise…..I’ve messaged you on Twitter but just came on here and have been reading the comments and i’m here bawling…i’m such a sop sometimes!!!!

How amazing must you feel to know how much people care about you….I have to say i really enjoyed your show. When Conor started at first he used to drive me mad but then he kinda grew on me!!! Ye just bounced off each other….

I like Dave O’Connor but its just not the same show at all….you and Connor were my first port of call for showbiz gossip etc…..

Big love to you both and i’m sure you won’t be unemployed for too long….

    Mandy x x
